The Expectations
Formative and Summative Grading:
5% Formative
- Daily classwork on in-class assigned projects
- Bell ringers
- Actively engaging instruction
95% Summative
*Projects
*Quizzes/Do or Die
*Chapter/Unit Tests
Academic Integrity:
Cheating, copying, passing off others’ work as your own will not be tolerated. As a result, you will receive a zero for the project along with additional consequences, to include an administrative referral, from your instructor.
You will be allowed to resubmit the project/assessment, having done your own work, for credit and showing mastery of the concepts graded on the project within two weeks.
Late work:
Projects will be accepted up to two weeks beyond the due date with up to a 10% penalty. If you fail to make up or turn in a late project within the time frame allowed, you will no longer be able to submit the project. Failure to submit the missing project will be calculated as a zero in your overall grade.
Assessments:
Summative project assessments will be scheduled regularly to assess mastery of core standards.
If you miss a summative project assessment, it is your responsibility to schedule a time to make the project up with your instructor. Failure to do the missed project will result in a zero in Focus.
Re-assessments:
If you do not do well on a summative project assessment (less than 70%) then you may request to retake the summative project assessment. You will be required to complete “re-learning” assignments prior to redoing the project. You will be required to complete the activities and re-do project within two weeks of the original project due date. It is your responsibility to complete the projects and schedule the retake with your instructor. Failure to do so will result in the original project assessment grade remaining in Focus.
